Data Sources & Attribution

Where our listing data comes from and the licenses that cover it.

Open data attribution

Part of the BerksMont Business directory — business names, addresses, and approximate locations for the Berks-Mont towns we cover — is derived from OpenStreetMap.

© OpenStreetMap contributors. OpenStreetMap data is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0. Town center coordinates were resolved using the Nominatim geocoding service, which draws on the same data.

Share-alike

The ODbL is a share-alike license. The portion of our directory database that is derived from OpenStreetMap remains available under the ODbL, and anyone is free to use, adapt, and redistribute that derived data under the same terms. If you want a copy of the OpenStreetMap-derived slice, email us at hello@berksmontbusiness.com and we will send it.

Content we produce ourselves — town guides, blog articles, editorial copy, branding, and business-supplied listing details — is not part of that derived database and is not covered by the ODbL.

Other sources

  • Business owners. Once a business claims its listing, the owner can correct and expand it — hours, phone, website, description, categories, and photos. Owner-supplied details take precedence over anything we imported.
  • Us. Category assignments, town groupings, and editorial descriptions are ours. So is the decision about which businesses fall inside the Berks-Mont service area.

Accuracy, and how to fix a listing

Imported data can be out of date, incomplete, or simply wrong — a business may have moved, changed its phone number, or closed. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any listing, and you should confirm details directly with a business before you visit or hire.

If something is wrong, tell us. Business owners can claim their listing to edit it directly, and anyone can email hello@berksmontbusiness.com to request a correction or removal. You can also read about how we rank businesses and who we are.
